The most common types of secondary packaging

GPI systems enable the automated management of product cartoning processes by utilizing the most widespread types of packaging, such as:

American Cases (also known as RSC Boxes): These consist of a single piece of pre-formed cardboard that is folded to create the case, filled with products, and finally closed by joining the remaining open flaps.

Wrap-around Packaging: As the name suggests, these are formed directly around the products they are intended to contain—typically capsules, three-flap cartons, flow-packs, bags, pouches, trays, jars, or bottles—and subsequently sealed.

Tray + lid: These involve two separate components that close over one another once the container has been filled.

All these types of packaging, designed to hold primary packaging or previously cartoned products, can be customized not only in terms of size and design but also through the addition of perforations, windows to view the internal product, and more.

Tailored Solutions for Every Need

GPI technicians are capable of designing solutions that take all various customization requirements into account. This allows companies to obtain secondary packaging that is perfectly functional from a structural standpoint, while also being aesthetically appealing and capable of meeting the demands of retail points of sale.
